New Vivo V9 Launched With a Notch And a 24-megapixel Selfie Camera

Vivo just confirmed their latest flagship which will be the Vivo V9 and it will have a notch, which isn't a surprise since The Notch seems to b the trend now after iPhone X. Vivo says that the notch in the new 6.3-inch 2280 x 1080 LCD with a 19:9 aspect ratio smartphone  helps achieve a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.

Vivo did well to build the V9 with pretty standard specs. For starters, the phone will boot Android 8.1 Oreo, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4.0 skin. chipped with a Snapdragon 626 processor. 4GB of RAM for handling background apps and similar tasks. A 3260mAh battery, 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a Micro USB port, and a headphone jack.

On the multimedia front, the new Vivo V9 flagship comes with a primary 16-megapixel sensor and f/2 lens paired and a secondary 5-megapixel unit for depth information and blurry backgrounds. Looking at the front view of this phone, you will agree with me that Vivo indeed prioritized selfie on the V9, thus giving it a sharp 24-megapixel f/2 front-shooter.

Still on the selfie front, the phone is packed with newly introduced AI feature called AI Face Beauty. This AI in order to “truly represent a users' beauty uses machine learning to identify some details about a user like their age, sex, skin tone, and texture.

According to Vivo, the V9's AI feature boosts the phone’s overall performance through what it calls the “AI Smart Engine,” which handles takes like storage management and app launching based on the user’s behavior.

“AI Face Access” is said to improve the accuracy of the face unlock feature, while “AI Attention Sensing” recognizes when you’re looking at the screen and reduces the volume of notifications accordingly.

Vivo which just announced a similar higher-end Android phone, The X21, for its Chinese market says that Vivo V9 will debut on the Indian markets before the rest of the world in black and gold variants, with no confirmation on the price yet.
