Facebook Messenger Lite Adds Video Chat Feature

The idea of Facebook Lite Messenger was first announced in October 2016 and was later made available exclusively to Android users in the US, UK, Canada and Australia with no confirmation if it'll be available to iOS users or not. 5 months after the app was made available with minimal features, Facebook decides to add a video call feature which is seen in the regular version of Facebook messenger app.

The video call feature according to Facebook, will be the final feature that they intend to add to the slimmed-down app for it to
become a truly viable replacement for the full-featured Messenger, as adding more features will make the app the just as the main version, thereby having no difference at all.

The Facebook messenger lite app only need 10mb of your phone storage space which is a lot smaller compared to the bloated messenger app that has a size of 30 to 45mb (depending on the phone).

It is compatible with lover versions of Android phones starting with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

The low amount of storage space needed for installation saves you a reasonable amount of storage space on your phone.

It uses less mobile data, saves data loads fast and runs efficiently. You can now reach people when you're in an area with a slow or unstable internet connection as Facebook Messenger Lite runs on most phones.  You can download the Facebook Messenger Lite App from Google Play Store.
