Here is a Demo of Samsung's Linux on Galaxy

Sometime last month Samsung decided that their latest smartphones which are the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be able Linux Distro. Now, not even up to one month of making that deceleration they have already released a demo of the duo flagships running a complete Linux Distro via Samsung DeX.

According to Samsung, this development will enable Linux enthusiasts to run native Linux distro(s) on their mobile devices. And to do so, they would need to connect their Galaxy smartphones to a bigger screen via DeX. With Samsung DeXdock, you can connect standard keyboard, mouse, and monitor and run and run everything from your mobile phone on a larger screen.

Samsung today released a video they titled “[Concept Demo] Linux on Galaxy x Samsung DeX,”. In the video, you will see how a device was put on DeX and using an app named “Linux on Galaxy” to launch a Linux distro. The video also showed Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS (Xenial Xerus) being used and a plus icon which can be used to add other distro(s) as well.

One major difference I noticed is that the Ubuntu in the demo video is or rather looks different from the Ubuntu I know on PC. But the thoughts and excitements that I will soon be able to use Linux distro on mobile phones are worth holding on to.
