Frequencies of Available Free to Air Channels in Nigeria

If you reside in Nigeria, and you are a fan of FT, my guess is that you an owner of a 0.6-0.9 or a 1.8 m dish properly mounted outside and a proper decoder, then these frequencies is exactly what you need to start enjoying quality TV packages.

1.   Mega Choice at 29/30° East TP: 11294 H: 45000 Dish: 1 m

2.   Multi TV (Astra2F) at 28.2°, 28.5° and 26° East TP: 11595 H: 30000 Dish: 1 m

3.   AFN at 9° East TP: 11804 H: 27500 Dish: 1 m

4.   Hotbird at 13° East TP:11541 H:22000 Dish: 3m

5.   NSS7 at 22° West TP: 10986 H: 30000 Dish: 0.6 m

6.   Intelsat 7 at 68.5° East TP: 12722 H: 26657 Dish: 0.6 m

7.   Eutelsat at 36° East TP: 12245 H: 27500

8.   Eutelsat at 7° East TP: 11599 H: 27500 Dish: 1 m

10.   Intelsat 20 at 68.5° East TP: 12633 H: 16166 Dish: 0.6 m

11.   Eutelsat at 15° East Dish: 0.9 m

12.   Ses at 4.8° East TP: 12014 H: 30000 Dish: 0.6 m (0.9 m recommended)

I personally find MultiTV (Astra2F) and Amos (Eutelsat16A) satellites to be the most interesting. The expanding CWG platform situated on the ASTRA 2F satellite can be found at 28.2° East. Star TV, ITV, EATV, Channel Ten, Star Music, France 24 English, Emmanuel TV, Star Movies +, Sky Vision etc, are some of the channels included on this satellite.

Most of the African channels that are mainly running Nollywood film strips and be found in Eutelsat 7A. While ntelsat7 satellite contains over a hundred Christian channels, and of course all of them are free.

Also, the type of FTA channels you will locate solely depends on the size of the dish you mounted outside as well as the direction the satellite dish is pointed at. If you want to receive a bigger number of channels, then use a larger dish (at least 1.8 m) with a C-band. And keep in mind, that most of these channels you will get may not be particularly exciting and interesting.

Finally, installing these Free-to-air-channels can be easy in some cases and straightforward and can be done using only the manual that comes with the equipment. However, implementing these frequencies correctly and getting all the channels you desire may require practice or the services of a professional installer.
