How to Force Restart iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

It is heading to a month now since Apple launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. The duos which according to Apple are the successor of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus sells at nothing below $700 had the button combination used to force restart a frozen phone changed by Apple. In older iPhones, you could hold the wake/lock (or "side" button) and the home button simultaneously until the Apple logo appeared. That process changed with the iPhone 7 lineup when you had to hold the wake/lock and volume down buttons to complete the process.

However, trying the same thing on the new iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus will trigger the Emergency SOS feature. And then your phone may end up playing a loud alarm and calling emergency services when all you wanted to do was restart your device.

According to Apple, restarting iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 plus requires a sequence, and not a combination of buttons anymore, and here is how to go about it;

1.   Quickly press and release the volume up button.

2.   Quickly press and release the volume down button.

3.   Hold in the wake/lock button until you see the Apple logo
