Kali Linux 2017.1 Released With New Features

Offensive Security's Kali Linux is, without a doubt, the best penetration testing operating system for ethical hackers. Sometime in 2016, the developers of this ethical hacking tool decided to switch to the rolling release model. What this implies is that instead of being based on the standard Debian releases, Kali Linux rolling distro ensures that it’s regularly being updated with latest features and patches.
kali linux 2017 released with new features
A few days ago, Offensive Security updated the Kali Linux images with some new features and changes. Dubbed Kali Linux 2017.1, it features with support for wireless injection attacks to 802.11ac and Nvidia CUDA GPU being the spotlight of the release.

In an official publication made on Kali.org, the 2017 edition of the most lovable pen testing tool comes with several exciting features as well as updates and here is a sneak peek of what's inside. But before e proceed, it might be of interest to know that you can simply update your existing installation by running few commands if you don’t wish to download the updated images from Kali. Some of the features include:

==>>>    RTL8812AU Wireless Card Injection support:
The 2017.1 edition of Kali Linux comes with a full support for wireless injection attacks to 802.11a. If you are already a Kali user and wish to get this, simply run the following command;
apt-get update
apt install realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms

OpenVAS 9 Packaged in Kali Repositories:
The feeling that Kali Linux lacks a full-fledged vulnerability scanner has been addressed with OpenVAS 9. Unfortunately, the OpenVAS 9 wasn't included in the default release, but interested users can get it on their machines just opening up their cmd as root and type the following commands.
apt-get update
apt install openvas

Other added features that the 2017 edition of Kali Linux chips are
a)    Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure Availability
b)    CUDA GPU Cracking support with Hashcat and Pyrit.

Just like I said earlier, you don't have to make a fresh download of the ISO file of 2017 Kali Linux edition. You can simply get the update by running this command as root and then reboot your machine afterward.
apt update
apt dist-upgrade

For new user, you can visit the official OSCP download page and get the ISO in accordance with your machine's architecture
