ALIBABA AND INTERNET CAR

I am always motivated to strive for more each time I read about Jack Ma (Founder of Alibaba). His Alibaba is to China what Amazon is to America, and this time, this time around, by partnering with SAIC Motor Automotive Manufacturer, Alibaba has launched China's first Internet car. The RX5 is an SUV which runs on Alibaba's own AliyunOS Operating System (Also known as YunOS) and is enriched with enough high-tech features and smarts to qualify it as an Internet of Things (IoT) device for the road.

The IoT comparison is appropriate, as the YunOS is also used in Alibaba's phones and tablets, as well as smart home appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners. With RX5, each driver is given their own unique Internet ID, so that the RX5 can recognized individuals based on their smartphone, automatically adjusting music, climate control, and location recommendations based on preferences.

The navigation system of RX5 is also impressive, with Alibaba saying the it can locate data and directions even when GPS and WiFi aren't available. This is all displayed on the large, which is designed to be controlled with voice commands.

The coolest part of RX5 is its integration with Alipay, (Alibaba's own mobile payments system). Aliplay allows drivers to pay for things like gas, parking spaces, or even coffee, via the car's OS. However, there's no autopilot features yet. The car also comes with built-in LED screens, and space to attach up to 360-degree cameras, which is good for recording road trips and behind-the-wheel selfies.

I wonder why we are still findind X and Y at schools... You can download and watch the 4mb test run drive video from here
